💌 Create a Real Estate Email Newsletter Your Community Will Love!
When it comes to passive real estate lead generation, crafting an email newsletter that highlights local businesses, events, and community news is a powerful strategy. It helps build trust and rapport with potential clients over time, positioning you as the go-to Real Estate Agent who's not only knowledgeable but also deeply connected to the pulse of your local area.
Over time, this approach naturally encourages your audience to turn to you for their real estate needs, as they will already be accustomed to receiving valuable information from you.
Ready to become THAT go-to Real Estate Agent in your community? Let’s dive in!
Introduction to Flodesk
Looking for an easy-to-use, intuitive, and visually stunning email campaign platform? Look no further than Flodesk! It's a powerful tool for generating leads and creating visually appealing email campaigns!
As a shameless plug, I'm excited to share my special affiliate link with you, offering a fantastic 50% off your first year with Flodesk! Trust me, I wish I had this deal when I first started using Flodesk. Regardless, I'm thrilled to pass on this discount to you and I sincerely appreciate your support through using my affiliate link!
Before we begin, it's crucial to understand that as Real Estate Agents, we need to be cautious when using Flodesk due to industry restrictions. Unfortunately, we're not allowed to include real estate property listings—such as commercial, residential, rental, and vacation properties—in our emails, as it may be viewed as spam. For more detailed information, you can refer to the Flodesk article on Prohibited and Limited Uses - HERE
Even if we were allowed to share listings, bombarding people with irrelevant property listings isn't a recommended marketing strategy. It not only risks coming across as spammy but also doesn't benefit your seller clients. With that in mind, this tutorial will focus on utilizing Flodesk's features to create a successful real estate newsletter without overwhelming our audience with listings. Our aim is to engage with our community, provide valuable information, and avoid promotional content that could be flagged as spam by Flodesk.
But First… Build Your List
A robust email list is the cornerstone of successful email marketing. In a previous tutorial on my YouTube channel, I outlined how to construct your list by creating a lead magnet. In that video, I demonstrated the process of delivering a free real estate guide via email in exchange for your prospect client's name and email, using a Flodesk email trigger workflow. If this sounds daunting, don’t fret—simply watch the video below before diving into crafting your email newsletter.
Choose Your Cadence
Crafting a reliable and consistent email newsletter requires selecting a cadence that suits your schedule. The frequency of your newsletter—be it weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly—should align with the content you plan to share and the engagement level you wish to maintain.
If you are just starting out, consider doing a monthly email newsletter. From there, you can then gauge feedback and adjust your cadence accordingly, potentially increasing it based on your preferences and audience response.
Name Your Newsletter
For brand recognition and familiarity, I encourage you to give your newsletter a name. Here are some example that ChatGPT helped me create. Feel free to use them or create a combination of the names:
1"Community Chronicles: Your Guide to Local Life & Real Estate"
"Neighborhood Navigator: Discovering Our Community & Real Estate Insights"
"Local Lens: Exploring Community Stories, Events, and Real Estate Advice"
"Homefront Highlights: Unveiling Our Community Gems & Real Estate Wisdom"
Designing Your Newsletter Content
The heart of your newsletter lies in its content. Here are some ideas you can use as sections or segments of your email newsletter that people can look forward to on a recurring basis:
Highlight local businesses
Share upcoming community events you'll attend
Feature your real estate YouTube video or blog post
Provide simplified market updates
Showcase community developments and favorite restaurants
Give shoutouts to industry partners (mortgage, title, insurance, etc.)
Include a Q&A section addressing common real estate questions
When structuring your newsletter, a good guideline is to aim for 3-5 sections. This balance ensures you provide enough value without overwhelming your audience. Too few sections may lack substance, while too many can be chaotic and off-putting.
Think from your prospect client's perspective. What information would they find valuable? Consider what might prompt them to unsubscribe. Keep it simple, engaging, and always prioritize delivering relevant content.
