A Step-by-Step Guide to 💻 Buying and Setting Up a Domain on Canva Websites

You've just finished crafting your website using Canva's user-friendly design interface, and now the exciting part awaits – publishing it for the world to see! But how exactly do you do that?

Fear not my friend, in this guide, I'll walk you through the straightforward process of purchasing a website domain from Canva, allowing you to host your beautifully designed website seamlessly on their platform. Let's jump right in and explore how to make your website live on Canva!

  1. Design Your Website on Canva:

Begin by designing your website on Canva. Choose the Canva Website doc type and create your desired layout using available templates or start from scratch. If you're interested, you can explore my collection of Canva Website templates for real estate agents [here].

  2. Selecting the Right Domain Name:

Once your website design is complete, it's time to publish. Simply hit the “publish website” button on the upper right-hand corner of Canva to open the publishing panel on the right-hand side.

When choosing a domain name, consider using your full name for a personal brand boost in SEO. For example, "firstnamelastname[dot]com." Alternatively, you can incorporate relevant keywords like "yourfullnamerealestate[dot]com" or "yourfullnamere[dot]com."

  3. Purchase the Domain on Canva:

Note that you can only purchase a domain on Canva if you're a Canva Pro user. You can try Canva Pro for 30 days free using my affiliate link [here].

Once you've selected an available domain name, adjust your site settings, including the favicon and preview tab appearance. Proceed to the payment window, where Canva will use your Canva Pro billing information.

  4. Verify Your Domain:

After completing your domain purchase, expect emails from Canva. Check for a crucial email to verify your domain name. It may take up to 72 hours for your domain to register and fully go live.

You can find more information about Canva domains and the registering process in this Canva article [here].

  5. Additional Notes:

Your Canva domain should renew automatically each year.
