Are you a real estate agent looking to impress potential clients with a stunning property listing website but you don’t have the advertising budget or the coding skills? Well, look no further! In this comprehensive guide, I walk you through the process of crafting a professional single-page property listing website using Canva. And best of all, there is no coding required. It’s as easy as drag and drop. Whether you're a seasoned agent or just starting out, this tutorial will help you elevate your brand and showcase your listings like never before. Trust me; your sellers will be impressed.

Oh and fair warning, I interchangeably use the terms Canva Website, funnel, landing page – which to me, mean all the same. I just need to juice this blog post up with keywords for SEO purposes. Okay thank you reading. Carry on my friend!

Understanding Canva Websites

Canva Websites are essentially mock-up sites serving as single landing pages that you can design to resemble a website. They are customizable, versatile, suitable for desktop and mobile viewing, making them ideal for landing pages, funnels, and lead magnets. For this tutorial, we'll focus on crafting a real estate landing page for property listings.

Creating the Base of the Property Website

To get started, open Canva and navigate to the website design section. Instead of using Canva Website templates, we'll start from scratch using a blank Canva Website doc-type to create a custom website tailored to your needs.

Pages 1 & 2: Creating a Photo Gradient for the Cover Page

First impressions matter, so let's create an eye-catching cover page. We'll use a gradient background technique to enhance text readability and ensure optimal display on mobile devices. Please don’t skip this step!

From here, add in your text and create a simple call-to-action button on the home page that encourages potential buyers to watch our YouTube Video tour. We will come back to hyperlink this button later.

Pages 1 & 2: Adding Text

Next, we'll carefully place text elements to convey essential information about the property. Crafting engaging slogans and descriptions will captivate potential buyers and make your real estate listing stand out.

Page 3: Adding Photo Collage and Description

Photos are worth a thousand words, so let's import listing photos efficiently. You can upload your listing photos directly to Canva or, what I prefer, connect your Google Drive account to Canva. That way, you can directly import photos and videos from a specific Google Drive folder. It is game-changing, and if you don’t know how to connect your Google Account to Canva, check out my video tutorial HERE.

Page 4: Quick Look Home Feature Icons

To provide a quick overview of home features, we'll add icons and text descriptions, allowing potential buyers to grasp key details at a quick glance.

Page 5: Amenities Chart & Embedding Google Map

Highlighting amenities is essential for attracting potential buyers that are looking at the specs of the neighbourhood. We'll also embed a Google Map for location visualization and interaction.

Page 6: Creating & Embedding an Interactive Photo Gallery

An interactive photo gallery allows potential buyers to explore the property in detail at their own pace. To do this, we will need to create an additional and separate Canva presentation doc-type with additional listing photos and then take that Canva design, create a smart embed link, and embed that Canva presentation directly back onto our Canva Website. I know, it sounds confusing so watch my linked video tutorial below. I promise, it is well worth the effort!

Page 7: Embedding YouTube Video

In addition to photos and a photo gallery, video marketing is super powerful in real estate. I highly encourage you to create a video tour of your real estate listing and then embed that YouTube video onto your Canva Website for a virtual property tour, providing potential buyers with an immersive experience. This will encourage buyers to reach out to you as the listing Agent when they want to see the property in person.

And don’t forget to hyperlink the YouTube video to the main call-to-action button that we designed on the first cover page!

Page 8: Agent Contact Page & Hyperlinking Social Icons

No property listing website is complete without a contact page. We'll add contact information and clickable buttons for social media profiles, website, email, and phone number so potential buyers know you are THAT Real Estate Agent!

Page 9: Add Your Brokerage Logo for Compliance!

To maintain compliance with brokerage and real estate regulations, be sure to add the brokerage logo to the website header and footer.

Publishing Your Canva Website

After ensuring all elements are properly hyperlinked, we'll preview the website layout for both desktop and mobile devices. If you want to have navigation on your real estate landing page, you need to name each page individually to allow Canva to recognize each section of the landing page.

Once you've put the finishing touches on your landing page and ensured both its design and functionality are up to par, it's time to hit the publish button. You can find this button conveniently located at the top right corner of your Canva design window. Once clicked, you'll enter the publishing window where you can fine-tune important details like the website title (which corresponds to the name of your Canva Document), favicon, and a brief description to boost search engine visibility.

For those with a FREE Canva account, publishing your website comes with the option of a Canva Free domain name. Alternatively, if you're a Canva Pro user, you have the additional choice of purchasing a domain through Canva or utilizing your own domain. Simply follow Canva’s instructions on hosting your website with your custom domain name.

Distributing Your Canva Website & Creating a QR-code of Your Canva Website

Although you have a beautiful landing page made, it is going to take work to drive traffic to this site. So I encorage you to consider the following and share the property listing website through organic social media posts, paid advertisements, of course your real estate email list, and even share the link in the description of the property’s MLS listing!

As a bonus tip in my video tutorial linked below, I show you how to create a QR-code for the website URL, making it convenient for offline marketing materials. I highly encourage printing off the QR-code, laminating it, and sticking it on your listing yard sign in case people walk by and want to see more details about the property. Going this extra mile will make you THAT Real Estate Agent!

Happy designing and SELLING my friend!
